Southerly summary - April 2023
April brought a true taste of spring. We finally had some gorgeous sunny days and it lit me up.
Last month I shared some health concerns, and after a diligent allergy regimen, I’m happy to report they’ve been improving! Honestly, living in construction has not helped my cause but since changing some of our old windows and the weather getting better, I have noticed a big difference.
It seems we’re on the up and up in a lot of ways this month so I’m rolling with it.
After some soul searching, I had quite the creative spurt. Our backyard is finally taking shape and I put together a whole outdoor living series including creating an outdoor oasis and my go-to outdoor entertaining essentials. I’m really loving this space and excited to continue improving it (pillows just arrived and I just ordered some monogram outdoor blankets!).
We also planted our raised beds, and I’m anxious to see how things grow. Newbie gardener over here.
Progress was made on the house including concrete being poured for our foundation. This was a big step as it is what allows us to build out the upstairs. I will write up our family room design in more detail this month (promise!), but progress has been slow due to the underlying work that needed to take place. But little by little, we’re getting there.
April was special because we also got to go see my family. We had a fun-filled week with my stepson and nephews! I always come back with a full heart after seeing everyone. Those times are truly special, and I’m grateful for every second.
I also got my first country concert of the season in this month! My husband and I saw Kane Brown - I think it’s one of the few concerts where I sang along to every single song. Loved it.
I shared here some of my fave April purchases and here what’s been inspiring me lately.
In other news, April marked a big milestone for me as a blogger in terms of collaborations. I’ve been very selective when it comes to partnerships, but this company was such a great fit, and I was excited to work with them. I work hard to create authentic content (most of the time for free!) because I love it. But owning my worth felt really good. And I know there are more good things to come.
So, big thank you to all of you for being here. Your support is invaluable and every like, comment, share, etc. means more than you know.
Here’s to a blooming May.
