Growing up in a small town, I’ve learned to appreciate the little things. From looking forward to the fall football season, to summers spent on the lake, there’s beauty in the simplicity that is the southern way of life.
Though I was raised in the south, I was born to dream; and after visiting family in California, it was my dream to live there. So after college (and a brief ski stint in Colorado), I packed up my life in the backseat of my car and headed west. Navigating the city as a small-town girl took courage, conviction, and grit(s)! But even in my tiny San Francisco apartment, I found ways to make it cozy and maintain a classic wardrobe (never mind the fact that the bed was in front of the closet).
A decade and a love story later, I’m embarking on creating a home of my own with my husband. Bringing our lives together has been an adventure, and I created this blog to share stories of designing our west coast lifestyle with a southern state of mind.
Quality over quantity has always been my outlook and celebrating the everyday is the essence of Southerly in the City.
