Southerly Summary - May 2022

May was a blooming month for Southerly!

We had our second trip to Mexico at the beginning of the month, and that trip inspired one of my most popular drink recipes to date, the hibiscus margarita.

True to the saying, May also brought tons of flowers. When my parents came to visit, I took them to a nearby estate where we found the most beautiful gardens and blooms.

Florals became sort of a love language the rest of the month - a signature if you will - woven into cocktail and entertaining videos as well as everyday life.

May brought new acquaintances to the blog, and I found that as I shared what was inspiring to me, it resonated with others too.

As we geared up for the unofficial kickoff to summer, we shared tips and tricks for barbecue season that can be carried into holidays like Memorial Day and Fourth of July. We’ll be sipping on this strawberry mule all season long. And as always, we’re enjoying ways to elevate any gathering while spending more time with loved ones.
