Conscious brands for 2022
Anyone else have sustainability as part of their new year resolutions? Living in California, it’s a big part of our everyday life. We try to be conscious, but I know we have much room for improvement. One of my goals this year is to do more with less and that includes products and purchases. And y’all already know I love to shop small and support local businesses!
I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite brands that offer sustainable products and fit that quality over quantity mindset below. I love what each of these brands offers! A small step can make a big impact, here’s to more thoughtful buying in 2022.
KEEP CUP - I am loving my new Keep Cup! Keep Cup is a Certified-B corporation helping pave the way for reusable items and keeping millions of cups from ending up in landfills. I’ve been on the hunt for a reusable coffee carrier for some time and this one is not only beautiful but also functional. As a gal on the go, this little cup has been a welcome addition in my bottle/drink arsenal.
BKR - Yes, a water bottle can be beautiful. Meet the BKR. I’ve been a BKR girl for years (it’s practically a right of passage in SF). These sustainable bottles are made from glass and have a smaller mouth opening for easy drinking. I take mine everywhere and highly recommend it. They come in pretty shades and fun designs for any style.
PATAGONIA - Patagonia is well-known for sustainable clothes. Once I moved west, I was hooked on this outdoor lifestyle brand. They make quality outerwear, snow clothes, and accessories that last. I particularly love their fleece lines - many of which are made from recycled, reused materials.
CUYANA - As someone who appreciates the minimalist mindset and classic, neutral styles, Cuyana has quickly become one of my favorite thoughtful brands. Plus it was born in Palo Alto, CA and founded and run by women. I have a bag and wallet from them, and they’ve held up over tons of use. They go with everything and by far one of my favorite purchase for a capsule wardrobe!
REFORMATION - Reformation has become pretty popular over the last few years and for good reason. They make beautiful clothes from low-impact materials, rescued fabrics, and repurposed vintage clothing. I recently purchased the Juliette dress as a possibility for engagement photos and though I haven’t worn it yet, I’m keeping it in my closet for my next wedding guest dress!
LEVI - An oldie but goodie. Levi’s is such a classic brand. They use some eco-friendly materials and have set clear sustainability goals as a company in an effort to “buy better, wear longer.” They’re headquartered in CA and one of my first purchases in the city was a classic jean jacket that I wear to this day. I sometimes find their jean fits hard for me, however I’ve found some great denim short options that I can share in the coming months.
