Summer (linen) loving

Linen is synonymous with summer and for good reason. It’s carefree, breezy and super versatile. A material I love to grab this time of year.

I shared this linen boyfriend shirt in my April roundup, and it’s become one of my staples of the season. It’s got a comfortable but structured look that gives a pulled together, casual vibe ready to take on summer roadtrips, beach days or bbqs in the backyard.

I have it in brown and this creamy stripe. I’ve paired the brown button down with distressed denim and heels for date night and with my Birkenstocks for a casual day look. And yes, I’m still loving brown!

I’m not usually a big pattern girl, but I love the neutral stripe over swimwear or paired with white shorts or denim for an elevated beach style. Something I might wear strolling the cobblestone streets of Charleston, SC before kicking off my shoes on the shore to watch the sunset. This pair of Madewell denim is new to my closet and super comfortable (I sized down).

My friend, Natalie, over at natalieellis.com paired her beautiful yellow shirt with wide leg denim and a chunky heel - another fun pairing for summer. See how she styled hers here.

I’m learning to embrace the perfectly imperfect in many ways - linen’s wrinkles included - and rather than shy away from them, welcome the stories they tell. I hope my linen tells stories of all kinds of summer fun and relaxation.
