Southerly summary - February 2024
February got off to a rainy, rocky start. There were some tough days dealing with the weather and construction. But there was also progress!
We ended up renting a place in town for a few days while insulation was installed. And it turned out to be such a nice retreat.
There was a lot of emphasis on my mindset this month. From starting work with my first branding client (!), to getting out of the house for breaks, and a relaxing Valentine’s day at home.
The month concluded with a much needed trip to see family. We hiked, watched movies, visited, and it filled my soul to be around them during this special time with the baby growing. Other than the altitude bothering us a bit the first night, it was a great little get away.
The house is starting to take shape with sheetrock in and the beginnings of finish work. Next month is going to be busy from both a construction and personal stand point. It will be the last real “busy” period before I start refocusing inward again in the last few months of my pregnancy. And honestly hoping I will have the time and ability to nest in our new spaces!
It’s hard not to get anxious about everything in the future, but I keep reminding myself to try to stay present and take things as they come. Sunny days are slowly starting to return and it makes me happy. I immediately notice my mood improve with a little warmth and being able to get outside.
March will be full of energy - fitting as the season starts springing back to life.
