Outfits I wore for my wedding events

I’m nearly caught up on all the wedding details! I had a hard time finding outfits that fit my style, so I thought I’d share what I ended up wearing for a few of our special events.

Since we had people travel for our big day, we didn’t do a separate engagement party. Instead, I opted to host a bridal luncheon in Jackson once everyone arrived. This was the day before the wedding and it was so fun to get all the girls together! We had a lovely brunch at the Cloudveil enjoying seasonal margaritas, french toast, and the best company. I wanted a casual, girly fit for the occasion, so I wore a beaded white dress and white cowboy boots (different from my wedding boots) and threw on my fave white fuzzy jacket (an old Patagonia buy!).

We also hosted a welcome dinner at the Calico Bar & Restaurant for our guests that evening (a big thank you to both our parents for helping host!). This was one of my favorite things we did! The vibe was fun and laid back, we had excellent service and great food. Since we weren’t big on formalities, we also decided to have speeches this night as opposed to the wedding day (my husband took care of that (IYKYK)). It made for many laughs, a few happy tears, and wonderful memories. This was one of my favorite outfits! I had found this gorgeous crop top with pearl straps at INTERMIX a few months before and paired it with this simple satin skirt for a chic rehearsal look. Don’t be afraid to mix it up from dresses if that’s not really your style.

And for the reception - I decided to have an additional outfit. I knew we’d be dancing and having a good time and though my dress was actually very comfortable (!), I wanted something fun that I could change into in the moment. I went with a simple off-white jumpsuit and still rocked my cowboy boots! I have to say I had a lot of fun in my jumpsuit, and I was especially happy to have it for our bus ride back to downtown Jackson. I found something that still made me feel bridal without the worry of wearing my dress all evening. And the cowboy boots added the perfect, western touch.
