My viral flower arrangement that cost $25
I love fresh flowers. They’re just happy. I use them throughout our home to brighten up spaces and bring joy. They make regular appearances in my entertaining scenes and sometimes even in drinks!
I love flowers of all kinds and in summer months, I experiment more with color. But I find that I still gravitate towards neutrals, and especially white floral combinations.
White goes with everything and it has an elegance about it. You can use this arrangement for any season or occasion. Here I’m sharing all the details of my “viral” creative centerpiece with stems from Trader Joes!
Stems
BASE - White hydrangeas
COMPLIMENT - White mum stems (or similar thin petaled flower)
GREENS - Fresh eucalyptus and green leaf stems
Rinse & trim
Give your stems a rinse in your sink (and make sure to snap a photo!). Then trim them about 1/2 of an inch at least. I like to use a large, clear vase so I don’t have to trim and measure much. I love my Barebones shears and highly recommend investing in a nice pair if you have flowers often.
Get creative
There’s another perk to placing your flowers in the sink. It gives you an easy space to work with and pre-arrange. I like to group my elements so its easier to place them in the vase.
Start with your base flower, in this case the hydrangeas.
Then add in half of the compliment flower (white mums), rotate the vase and add the rest.
Lastly, layer in the fresh eucalyptus. Tuck it behind the flowers to it doesn’t hang but adds texture and fill to the arrangement. Then add a few sprigs of the green leaf stems following a v-shape to give dimension.
Add water+flower food and enjoy your beautiful flowers!
White flowers represent purity, grace, and humility - the perfect sentiment for your home.
