Fall apple cider cocktail
There’s something about fall that’s both exhilarating and cozy.
The changing colors of the leaves, the crispness in the air - these senses of the season are so exciting to me. And yet, once the cool nights set in and more leaves begin to fall, there’s nothing more homey than curling up under a blanket with a good book or warm drink.
Fall is one of those seasons I tend to really miss home. Between the beautiful colors and football, its a time of year that’s hard to beat!
Since it’s still warm here in CA, I’ve been enjoying the season in other ways. We are still taking advantage of the outdoors (and hello tailgate season!), so this take on the classic Moscow mule is the perfect transitional drink to get you in fall spirits. And bonus - I finally found use for the apples from our yard (they tend to be too mealy to cook)!
This cocktail couldn’t be simpler and would be great for tailgates or your next fall gathering.
Recipe
To make, add 1 oz vodka, 2 oz apple cider (I used store bought), and the juice of 1 lime wedge in glass. Fill with ice, top with ginger beer, and garnish with a cinnamon stick and/or apple slice. Copper mugs work great here to add some fun color!
If you prefer something less sweet, I usually add in soda water/plain la croix for some extra fizz. Can’t go wrong with more bubbles - here’s to the first tastes of the season!
