DIY Thanksgiving place settings

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and many of us are looking forward to hosting gatherings again this year.

With a few simple details, you can elevate your everyday table into a festive scene! Place settings are a great way to personalize to your guests, letting them know how honored you are to have them in your home.

I typically hand write the names which adds even more of a personal touch.

I had a lot of items on hand already that inspired these looks! I couldn’t decide on one theme so thought it’d be fun to put several together for ideas. Make sure to take inventory in your own home and get creative!

Elegant naturals

Natural leaves get a glam up look with added ribbon.

This look is classic. I took dried magnolia leaves (which I had left over from my Halloween tablescape) and placed them centrally on a white cloth napkin. I used a thick cut ribbon to hold it in place, giving it a rustic-elegant vibe. The name card was tied in place with twine for the last detail! I love how the slight sparkle in the ribbon pairs beautifully with my antiqued pumpkins, tying the whole look together.

Fall festive

A neutral patterned napkin complements the white mini pumpkin.

I love the texture that this neutral napkin brings! White mini pumpkins get new purpose from Halloween by becoming a center piece of this fall place setting. They’re so cute and functional, and you can use real or faux! Simply tie twine and a white or gold tag for your guests’ names, and you’ll be ready to party in no time.

Boho harvest

Textures, grains, and dried fruit create this boho look.

Boho has been such a trend lately! This look would pair well with pampas grass and decorative corn for a more harvested table. I used a cream napkin as the backdrop and layered dried blood oranges and decorative grains. I found my orange slices at my local grocery and the stems at Hobby Lobby. I tied them together with twine, using the natural hole in the orange, and added the same kraft gift tag for my name card. The gold metallic lettering helps complete the look (I used a sharpie).
