A time to shine

It’s nearly December and the countdown to Christmas is on. Holiday lights are twinkling on houses, red coffee cups are in hand, and that nostalgic smell of pine fills the air.

If you’re at our house, lots of construction is going on but hey - that’s a reason to celebrate too!

You know by now I’m generally in casual outfits, but I love an excuse to dress up and the holidays bring perfect occasions for that!

This year I teamed up with a friend to share styling satin/silk dresses for the holiday season.

I love the effortless chic look of a silk dress, however the slip dress style isn’t always flattering.

I searched for quite some time for something unique and found this lovely black silk dress at Revolve. It’s the perfect length and style. It is 100% silk so it feels luxurious, and the gold chain detail at the neckline adds a bit of glam perfect for a Christmas or New Years party. Since its sleeveless, I’d pair this cutie with a fun furry coat. I find I always reach for my classic Sam Edelman heels for dressy looks and this one was no exception. You just can’t go wrong with black!

My friend, Natalie, from natalieellis.com, found another beautiful satin dress that’s party ready! She shared a wrap style with sleeves in our Reel on IG, perfect for cooler weather or an evening on the town. Check out her blog post for more!

I love the soft satin material this time of year. It adds just the right amount of shine and these options show you how versatile it can be. Dressing up or not, I hope you find many reasons to celebrate this holiday season!
