Versatile engagement photo outfits
With everything going on lately, I haven’t shared much about our wedding planning. It’s an exciting time, we just have so much going on! In today’s post, I thought it would be fun to share some engagement photo outfit inspiration that could easily be re-styled.
It’s difficult not to buy new for events, especially your wedding! So while I’ve been purchasing more items than usual, I made sure that they fit my everyday style and could be reworn.
When we first decided to do photos, I did a lot of pinning and research for outfit inspiration. I loved the flowy dress look, but I tried on many and they always felt a bit forced. When I spoke to my photographer, I asked for her input given she’d done tons of engagement sessions. One of the best pieces of advice she gave me (and one of the many reasons I loved working with her) was to wear what makes me comfortable. The last thing you want while taking photos is to be worried about your clothes! And that goes for the guys too. I let my guy choose his look (and honestly, he’s a great dresser!), I just asked that he have a more dressy and casual look to align with me.
Your engagement photos are a beautiful memory of a happy and exciting time. Choose classic outfits that stay true to your genuine style so the photos feel authentic.
The looks shared here are white-themed for a more bridal look, but most come in various colors/patterns. You could use them for multiple occasions, and they’re perfect for transitioning to spring!
Cozy sweater
Y’all know I’m obsessed with Free People sweaters and this one takes the cake. I’ve been wearing it all season long, and you guys loved it in my monochromatic winter look! I chose this for my photos because it fits my casual style while still being sexy and feminine. I love how the shoulder can be slightly offset to show a little skin. I paired it with a lace bralette and denim and went barefoot. It was perfect for our beach shots, and I wear it on repeat!
Smock top
Believe it or not this top is from Abercrombie. Who knew they’d make a comeback!? This top is a little more feminine and honestly, it would have made the cut if it wasn’t mid December when we did our shoot. I love the form fit and it’s a great top for spring. This one is currently out of stock, but you can find similar styles on their site.
Bow top
Regardless of being a bride, I’m usually in white/off white. So when I saw this top recently at Anthropologie, it was hard to pass up. I love the one shoulder and bow detail. The material is casual stretch cotton, but the bow adds so much personality! This would be adorable for a shoot or your next warm weather get-away.
Patterned dress
Halter necklines are one of my favorite styles. This A-line dress is from Lulus so an affordable purchase, but I really like the quality and detail. It’s lightweight and will be perfect for transitioning to summer.
